“I seem to have lost all soul or sensation but for this one pursuit.”
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
THE SCRIPT
Using the original novel, Chella Anderson has adapted the words of Mary Shelley, attempting to preserve much of the original, incredibly beautiful language,
The script is a brand new adaptation, with excerpts from The Journals of Mary Shelley 1814-1844 by Mary Shelley and quotes from A Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft.
THE CONCEPT
The story of Frankenstein is well known, and will be explored with a LGBTQIA+ lens - with Victor Frankenstein being played as a queer person who struggles to create the ideal being while wrestling with their own identity.
In this show, we hope to explore self-creation, the societal costs of living authentically, and the personal costs of living unauthentically.
