Who We Are
It all started at a tea shop in Asheville, North Carolina. We (Grace and Chella) were discussing ideas for the future of our theatre careers over pastries and hummus. Of two things we were positively certain: we loved to work together, and we wanted to have fun.
We share a love for original, exciting theatre, whether in the form of a brand-new play or a fresh take on an old classic. Blue Box was founded around the idea that every season would contain something old (a reimagined classic text), something new (a premiere of an original script), something borrowed (an adaptation), and something blue (an in-house event to thank and celebrate our company members).
With our growing company, we will dedicate our time and passion to creating a safe, inspiring space for creative artists to hone their craft and find a sense of collaborative community. With our productions, we will present shows that challenge ideas, center around hope, spark joy, or just plain entertain.
How We Work
Blue Box Theatre Company prides itself in working hard to pay members of our productions fairly.
As our company and its success grows, so will our ability to pay artists what they are worth!
